The Statistical Office of the European Union, responsible for providing statistics on the Member States, prepares economic data to support decision-making for European Central Bank (ECB) monetary policy and regional data to guide the structural policies of the European Union.
The data are divided among 9 main thematic areas and 30 sub-thematic areas. The areas are: general and regional statistics; economy and finance; population and social conditions; industry, trade and services; agriculture and fisheries; international trade; transportation; environment and energy.
